Gridiron Show 2003 – ‘Media Molesta’ – sold out
Tickets for both nights of this year’s Gridiron show, called "Media Molesta," are sold out.
But there’s still a chance to see the hilarious performance – a conglomeration by a number of Honolulu’s newspaper, magazine, radio, television and stage personalities that pokes fun at everyone and everything in Hawaii’s headlines over the past year.
Passes for the show’s dress rehearsal scheduled for Oct. 23 at Diamond Head Theatre will be available for $20, payable by cash or check at the door. There will be no advanced ticket sales.
Tickets go on sale at the theatre box office at 6:45 p.m. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
The rehearsal shouldn’t be compared to the Gridiron’s show nights, as it may run long because of retakes and some of the emcees may not appear.
Seating at the rehearsal is first-come, first-served.
Those at the rehearsal will get a first glimpse at the show, for which witty writers have been going behind the headlines since April Fools’ Day to find stories that should have been written in song and dance.
The Gridiron Show 2003 is scheduled for Oct. 24 and 25 at 8 p.m.
Proceeds from all three nights benefit the Society of Professional Journalists Hawaii Chapter student internships and scholarships, as well as professional-development programs for journalists.
For more information on the dress rehearsal tickets, go to our Web site at www.gridiron.org or call the Gridiron ticket hotline at 216-2983.

Things Evan'd out
Boogie time in the state House
media molesta, n. A noxious conglomeration of radio, television, newspaper and magazine personalities. Its rapid growth and lack of tolerance to political stresses make it an aggressive species known to parody political leaders and other newsmakers.
Just as Salvinia Molesta left fish in Lake Wilson gasping for oxygen, Honolulu’s newspaper, magazine, radio, television and stage personalities are expected to leave the audience at the
Diamond Head Theatre gasping for air, with a hilarious evening of political satire on Oct. 24 and 25.
A crack(ed) staff of writers has been going
behind the headlines since April Fools’ Day to
bring you stories that should have been written in
song and dance.
The show pokes fun at everyone and everything in
Hawaii's headlines over the past year. Proceeds
benefit the Society of Professional Journalists
Hawaii Chapter student internships and scholarships,
as well as professional-development programs
for journalists.
