National Convention raises annual dues
From: Robert Leger, President
Date: Sept. 20, 2002
As was reported in the July/August 2002 issue of Quill, SPJ's board of directors voted to allow the dues inflation factor to resume. Delegates to the 1992 Convention approved a measure tying future dues increases to the Consumer Price Index. The 1998 Convention approved a two-year freeze. Board action in 2000 and 2001 kept the freeze in place.
With this convention, the freeze ended. So, after four years of no change in dues, professional dues will rise $2 a year to $72. Reduced rate dues (students, post-grads and retired members) will increase $1 to $36. The increase is effective immediately.
