FOI Bills in 2009 Legislature
HB 1212:
Allows persons subject to regulatory complaints about their fitness to receive
or hold a license to remove complaints from public view.
SB 212: Requires privately owned out-of-state prisons under a state contract to comply with state open records laws.
SB 438: Reduces the Board of Education meeting notice requirement from six to two days to discuss legislative agenda items during legislative sessions, and require reporting back.
SB 906: Allows interactive conference technology to replace videoconferencing as a permitted means of holding meetings of boards and commissions under the sunshine law.
SB 1661: Allows less than a quorum of board members to conduct – without taking actions – a duly noticed meeting where minutes are taken, and attend government meetings, provided they don’t participate in discussions and members report back t their board and include such reports in meeting minutes.
